MEET LUCY
Glowbar was founded in 2019 by Lucy Peake, a CIDESCO-qualified therapist trained at the Oxford International College of Beauty. With over fifteen years of experience in the beauty industry — specialising in aesthetic treatments and advanced skincare — Lucy has always been passionate about helping people feel confident in their own skin.
Her journey began in some of the industry’s most prestigious salons, where she worked in both hands-on therapy and management roles. With a sharp eye for detail and a genuine care for her clients, Lucy quickly built a reputation for delivering results-driven treatments with a personal, intuitive touch. Eventually, she took the leap to go self-employed — with the encouragement of close friends and family — and brought her vision to life with the launch of Glowbar.
What began as a home-based studio soon evolved into something bigger. In January 2024, Glowbar opened the doors to its first high street salon — a beautifully designed space in the heart of Jericho, Oxford. Just four months later, Lucy welcomed her son Freddie into the world — making 2024 a year of transformation in every sense, both professionally and personally.
At the heart of Glowbar is a clear and powerful ethos: we believe that feeling good in your own skin can be a transformative thing. We’re not here to change how you look, but to enhance what’s already uniquely yours. Our salon is rooted in a fundamentally feminist approach — one that celebrates individuality, self-expression and the kind of confidence that comes from embracing your own version of beauty. We don’t believe in one ideal — only your own.
